You asked for advice here so my advice is to do the right and honorable thing and start selling a legitimate product that you can be proud of. That is what any real seller would do!
Actually there is nothing wrong with selling replica’s provided that no where on the product you use a brand name, ie. if you were making replica’s of a COACH handbag you could sell a product that looked exactly the same but, nowhere on the product could you use the Name Brand. Anyone trying to import something that has a Brand Name Logo on it would most likely be confiscated by their countries Customs Department. However, as I said if you made a handbag that looked like an original and gave it a different P/N from the original this is legal. Not everyone can afford a $2000.00 handbag. Designer knock-off’s or replica’s are very popular here. Many people that host these parties travel to New York and purchase the merchandise very cheap, then mark up price and sale to make a profit. However I wanted to go directly to the source which is oversea’s. You cannot buy and sell legally any product that trades off the look or name of another company. That is called ‘passing off’ and it is illegal in many countries.
There is nothing wrong with getting inspiration from chanel handbags and then designing your own product but you would want to make sure that it is significantly different from the original design such that any reasonable person would not be confused and think that they are buying the real thing.
