Do you make enought money to support your needs, wants and habits with the way the economy is?
♥ I had to cut down on some major shopping expenses!
No more Coach handbags for me and now I am a freak about grocery coupons! Granite I make enough money to pay for child care, rent, groceries, gas, and some luxury items but its tought I know iam constanly checking my bank account, the adult industry pays nothing like it used to!♥

This is kind of a multi-part question, but I am asking because I have been told by a few Brits that came over here to live, and they constantly talk about how much they love the buying power they have over here. I guess that means lower taxes and higher pay here?
My other interest is in the British class system. Is there a large middle class, and what would you guys consider middle class? In America, middle class means you own a home in some suburb, own two cars, have a few designer items but modest amounts, and you are somewhat familiar with the fine arts and culture.
I was watching a Discovery Channel special on the life of the Queen and all of her staff and the upkeep of her estates, and I am just thinking to myself the entire time, how much do the taxpayers pay for all of this luxury?? As an American, I could never fully understand paying such high taxes for someone else to live so extravagantly.
I did somewhat see how people lived since I have been to some parts of England including the Northern region, around Blackpool, Bath, and of course London. I also studied abroad in Budapest for a semester and I traveled all over. My impressions are that people live much more simply, and among the masses, designer apparel or accessories weren’t as common. I also didn’t notice many luxury cars. Out here it is impossible not to see a BMW or Mercedes on the street as well as Gucci or Louis Vuitton handbags (I am talking about middle class neighborhoods, not rich areas), but that does not mean people are rich here. Maybe Americans value brand name more? Or is it the same there too??

I wanted to get some boots that have the Ugg style but don’t have real sheepskin. I’m not a vegan or anything, I’d just prefer something that was suede instead of animal skin. Do you know any popular brands/stores that sell them?!

I live in a small town, with approximately 25 families making up the top income earnings (just a guess) of over $100,000 per year. The majority of residents make around $20,000 (according to census info).
There is an overabundance of people who drive big SUV’s, try to dress like celebrities, wear fake handbags, and generally act like they have money. Some of these women (the ones I know of, personally) live in modular homes, or very small homes and they either don’t work, or their husband sells insurance or some other job like that. The families who make over $100k per year are much more subtle. I, for example fall into this criteria. I drive a luxury car, but it’s not flashy (and it’s a car), I carry an expensive handbag, but it doesn’t have a logo, etc… I just want to know why all the women in my town have to act like they have money (or a higher income) when I know they dont? Why do they act like this when you can’t fake a mortgage payment? Is this everywhere, or just rural?

Is it just me or do you get annoyed when you see celebs flaunt millions worth of jewelry, 10 luxury cars and $20 grand for one handbag! They were lucky in life, yet blow money like crazy. In L.A. (I lived there) they walk a red carpet wearing 3 mil. in jewelry and as you drive further down the Blvd. you see homeless and hungry kids. No meds, sick & die. They could help so so many. I would be embaressed/guilty to say whay Kimora S.said “oh I am fab wearing more than 3 million in diamonds”. . Some defend Ppl think Oprah is so good with her TV give aways ,African school ,but that is like us giving away $100.00. She is a billionaire, bank interest alone each minute is like in the thousands, or earns a million every hour. You’d be very rich off interest alone! Some say “well it’s their $ to spend ..” Now I see why the Bible says that it is easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God. Love of money is dangerous. What do u think?
