I am a store manager for Starbucks. We collect donations in the form of bags of coffee to send to soldiers in Iraq. I’m told that in order for us to send these donations, we must ship the coffee directly to a specific soldier, rather than some sort of general address. Can anyone hook me up with a U.S. soldier in Iraq who would be willing to distribute coffee to other members of our armed forces in the areas where good coffee is a luxury? (By the way, I’m told that in areas where brewing the coffee is not an option, our soldiers often chew the beans for that “coffee buzz.” We would be sending whole beans to insure freshness.) Most of the coffee we send is purchased and donated by our customers who attach short notes of encouragement to our armed forces members.
